Inspiring Creativity and Championing Inclusion in the Arts
My passion for the arts began with dance. I graduated from SCAPA at Bluegrass as a Ballet Major (2003) and continued my dance studies at Oklahoma City University, where I performed with OCU’s touring company. I landed my dream job and had the honor of dancing as a Radio City Rockette. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed teaching at dance schools throughout Kentucky and Tennessee, including Bluegrass Youth Ballet (2008, 2021)
After my performance career, I transitioned into healthcare, becoming a certified Recreation Therapist in 2012 after earning my degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Leisure and Recreation Management, specializing in Recreation Therapy. At MTSU, I performed and choreographed for the Middle Tennessee Performing Arts Company. I’ve stayed connected to the arts through guest teaching, supporting local creative projects, and advocating for accessibility and inclusion within arts organizations.
I’ve been fortunate to share my experience as a guest speaker and panelist on disability inclusion in cultural spaces through the MTSU History Department and as a speaker and presenter at TriStar Centennial’s Wellness 66 Seminars in Nashville, where I worked in behavioral health.
I am deeply passionate about the arts and committed to advocating for inclusion, diversity, mental health, and the continued vitality of the arts in our world. Supporting artists and arts organizations in achieving their goals and creating meaningful impact is one way I give back to the arts, which has profoundly shaped my own life.
